Indie or Independent music describes a genre of music that is characterized by independence from major commercial labels, and is usually autonomous to recording and the publishing of music tracks.
Labels of indie music are well known for their little influence over the artist they represent, especially with the music production. They strive to avoid artist-cultivating behaviors that is dominant in major labels.

ReplyDeleteI really like your site. As an avid music-lover, I definitely appreciate your concept here. I just recently, within the last four or five months, started getting into Indie music and now I think it's probably my favorite genre right now! I'm so sick of hearing the same songs all the time in other genres. I think that's partly why Indie music appeals to me so much, because it's refreshing to not only hear something I've never heard before, but for it to be really amazingly great at the same time! haha
